SOAP? In a delicatessen? So, being an “emporium” grants a bit of leeway in merchandising, eh? Well in a word, YES! But please understand that it does comply with our mission to bring products of high quality and aesthetic merit to our public. A fine soap is as intimate as a ham sandwich: both interact with our senses on an admittedly very personal level! Pictured in the top row, above, is a French soap made with wheat germ and propolis “bee glue”,( a substance gathered by bees from the buds of trees and used to patch, glue and hold together aspects of the hive). It is gentle and soothing, like a masque, but creamy and refreshing. I start every day with it. A well made soap will endure daily use for months if stored dry and ventilated. Circles on the Square also offers olive oil and vegetable oil French soaps, green clay, red clay, calendula petal, and fruit essence soaps, soaps from England - olive oil based castile - in a sultry variety of incarnations. Come. Smell. Imagine.
